Motion mathematical part1

Motion Mathematical physics

Starting from rest a car speed of 45 km/h in 2 minutes. Find the acceleration and the distance transversed by this time.

Solution:

Here, initial velocity  u = 0

time t = 2 minutes = 120 second

final velocity  v = 45 km/h

acceleration a =?

distance S =?

We know,  v = u + at^2

⇒ a = (v - u) /t^2

⇒ a = (12.5 - 0)/120^2

⇒ a = 0.104 ms^-2

Now,

 S = ut + (1/2)at^2

   = 0×120 + (1/2)×0.104 ×120^2

   = 0 + 748.8 m

   = 748.8 m

 acceleration of the car is 0.104 ms^-2

and the distance transversed by this time is 748.8 m
